Hydroxyfluorosilicone oil is a fluorine modified silicone oil with hydroxyl groups (- OH) at both ends of the molecule. It combines the high and low temperature resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, low surface energy characteristics of fluorosilicone materials, as well as the reactivity of hydroxyl groups. It is widely used in new material synthesis, industrial sealing, surface treatment and other fields. Its core functions are as follows:
1、 As a key intermediate for synthesizing fluorosilicone rubber/fluorosilicone resin
This is the core use of hydroxyfluorosilicone oil. The hydroxyl groups at both ends of its molecule have high reactivity and can undergo condensation reactions with systems containing crosslinking agents such as silane coupling agents and organotin catalysts, forming a three-dimensional network structure to prepare high-performance fluorosilicon materials
Synthetic fluorosilicone rubber: used to produce fluorosilicone rubber products that are resistant to oil, solvents, and high and low temperatures, such as seals in the aerospace industry, oil seals for automotive engines, and pipeline linings in the petrochemical industry. It can maintain elasticity in a wide temperature range of -60 ° C to 250 ° C and withstand corrosion from gasoline, diesel, strong acids and alkalis.
Synthetic fluorosilicone resin: A fluorosilicone resin coating or coating that combines the weather resistance of fluororesin with the adhesion of silicone resin. It is used for surface protection of substrates such as metal, glass, and plastic, enhancing resistance to ultraviolet radiation and chemical corrosion.
2、 Used for preparing high-performance sealants and adhesives
Modified silicone sealant: As an additive added to ordinary silicone sealant, it improves the oil and solvent resistance of the sealant, and enhances the bonding strength with difficult to stick substrates such as fluoroplastics and metals. It is suitable for sealing scenarios in automobiles, ships, and chemical equipment.
Preparation of fluorosilicone sealant: As a standalone base adhesive, it is combined with a curing agent to make single component or two-component fluorosilicone sealant, which can be used for a long time in harsh environments (such as high temperature, strong corrosive media), with long-lasting and stable sealing performance.
3、 As a surface treatment agent, endowing the substrate with special functions
By utilizing the low surface energy properties of fluorosilicone materials, hydroxyl fluorosilicone oil can be used as a surface modifier:
Waterproof and oil resistant treatment: applied to the surface of fabrics, paper, and leather to form an ultra-thin hydrophobic and oil repellent film, endowing the material with waterproof, anti fouling, and oil resistant properties, without affecting the breathability of the substrate, suitable for outdoor textiles and industrial filtration materials.
Release agent: Used for demolding in rubber and plastic molding processes. Compared to traditional silicone oil, fluorosilicone oil release agent has stronger high temperature resistance. After demolding, the surface of the product is clean and residue free, especially suitable for precision component molding.
4、 Other special applications
Lubricating grease base oil: compounded with lithium based and polyurea based thickeners to produce high-temperature fluorosilicone lubricating grease, used for lubrication of high-speed bearings and high-temperature gears. It can maintain lubricating performance at extreme temperatures and is not easily reactive with chemicals.
Electronic device protection: Used for moisture-proof and insulating coatings of electronic components, improving the stability of circuit boards and sensors in humid and corrosive environments, and extending their service life.
